Dear Jane Austen readers,
I have been away and now am back in my shop. Jane Austen At Home in Carmel-by-the-sea. I have been admiring the silhouettes of Jane Austen and environments that were done by her nephew James Edward Austen-Leigh. I have added the one supposedly of Jane Austen on horseback with a hound to my collection of note cards.
My new favorite quote is the one by Mr. Knightley to Emma,"Vanity working on a weak head produces every sort of mischief."
Next we will discuss the War with Napoleon and the great Admiral  Nelson.

Jane Austen At Home

Dear Jane Austen At Home customers,
I am starting a Jane Austen At Home blog. I own Jane Austen At Home in Carmel-by-the-sea. I have lived in London, England for 24 years, been to Christies' Education for a year, worked at Windor Castle and Christies' South Kensington, London for 6 years. I love Jane Austen and have a lot to say, not in the usual sense of Janites, but historically and in the context of furniture and the decorative arts.
